We want to take this opportunity to inform Happy Feet families about our plan for reopening this fall. We have taken necessary safety measures and have put in place important rules and procedures in order to prioritize the health and safety of our dancers and teachers.
As always, class size is limited. This year, our classes will be smaller to ensure proper social distancing.
We have invested in top of the line air purifiers for each studio.
All parents and dancers are required to read the following plans before opening week.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation in following these new guidelines to keep everyone safe.
Our teachers have been working very hard to redo their class syllabus. If you have any questions please feel free to text Cissy (845) 494-9155 or Miss Gail (845) 222-8454.
MASKS MUST BE WORN BY EVERYONE!
If you or your child are not wearing a mask, you will not be allowed to enter the studio.
Everyone must enter through the bottom doors closest to Rt. 52 (next to the elevator)
Dancers and parents will not be permitted to enter the building until their class time.
A class cannot enter the studio until the previous class has left the building. (See “Leaving Class” below)
A staff member will check in each student, let them know which studio they are in, and supply hand sanitizer.
Each studio will have several 6-foot squares which will be spaced 6 feet apart to maintain distance.
Students will bring their belongings with them inside their individual 6-foot square.
Students will also have separate specified squares to keep their water and change of shoes.
Please make note that there will be no cubbies this year -- we ask that you limit the amount of belongings being brought to class.
Everyone must remain in their square the entire duration of the class.
Dancers are encouraged to use the bathroom before/after class.
Each class will be dismissed 5 minutes early to give the teacher time to sanitize in between classes.
Everyone must keep their masks on upon leaving.
Students in both studios will exit through the side door.
Younger students will be escorted to the other end of the hall (the side door) after their class is over.
Everyone must exit the building down the back staircase (by Dunkin Donuts).
Parents will pick up their child downstairs by the Dunkin Donuts exit.
THE WAITING ROOM WILL BE CLOSED!
Bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized every hour.
Teachers can no longer pick up students from school.
If you need to speak with Miss Gail during opening week, you will need to make an appointment. If you have questions about classes or payment, please text her beforehand.
If dancers have time in between classes, they can wait in a specified waiting area. Masks must be worn by students waiting in the studio between classes.
If students are unable to follow social distancing guidelines (both in class and during breaks), they will need to be picked up early. Students who are consistently unable to follow the safety rules will not be permitted to return to the studio.
Parents are required to keep their child home if they are sick. They must be fever free for at least 48 hours before returning to class. Parents will be asked to sign a form to confirm that their child has been fever free for 48 hours.
If a student or teacher is notified that they have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, all impacted classes will transition to virtual classes (Zoom) for 2 weeks.
We will no longer be sharing equipment among the students. All our ballet barres are 8 feet long so we can fit 2 kids per barre (they will be heavily sanitized before and after use). Acro students will have their own mini mat that will be sanitized before and after use.
Please keep in mind that teachers usually have to tie the shoes of their younger students. Everyone is encouraged to get slip-on or velcro shoes. Unfortunately, hip-hop shoes do not come without laces. Please make sure you double knot their shoes and tuck their laces into the shoe before class begins.
